2024 CEO Forum

The annual meeting of the CEO Forum coincides with meetings of the Indian and Australian Prime Ministers and Trade Ministers. A date for the 2024 CEO Forum in Australia has yet to be confirmed by both countries.

2023 CEO Forum

The Australia-India CEO Forum held its meeting on 9th March 2023 in Mumbai.

The meeting coincided with the visit of the Hon Anthony Albanese MP, Prime Minister of Australia, Minister for Tourism and Trade, Don Farrell and Minister for Resources, Madeleine King to India, along with a high-level official and business delegation. The visit came after the entry into force of the interim Free Trade Agreement, the India-Australia ECTA on December 29, 2022.

The last CEO Forum was held on 23 November 2018 in Sydney. In light of the strengthening of bilateral relations between Australia and India in recent years.

The 2023 meeting was convened to renew and build relationships at the highest level of business and to assess new opportunities that will emerge resulting from ECTA.

During his official visit to Australia in May 2023, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with business leaders to take forward opportunities from the CEO Forum held in Mumbai in March. In the presence of the Honourable Prime Minister, the Business Council of Australia committed to leading a high-level delegation to the B20 which was hosted in Delhi in August.

With the support of Australia’s Assistant Minister for Trade and Manufacturing, Tim Ayres, a roundtable of business leaders from both Australia and India confirmed the establishment of five joint working groups (education, renewable energy and critical minerals, the digital economy, and infrastructure and finance), which would drive the intersessional work of the CEO Forum.
