Established by the Australian and Indian Prime Ministers

The CEO Forum brings together the most senior business leaders from both countries to strengthen trade and investment ties.

The CEO Forum meets annually and provides advice to heads of government on ways to strengthen economic prosperity for both India and Australia.

The annual meeting of the CEO Forum coincides with meetings of the Indian and Australian Prime Ministers and Trade Ministers. Throughout the year the CEO Forum convenes and takes part in a wide range of events focused on strengthening Australia-India relations.

The CEO Forum has been active since 2012 and was relaunched in 2023 by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Why we exist

Australia-India economic relationship

One million Australians have Indian heritage making both a strong trade and cultural connection between the two nations, one to be both nurtured and celebrated.

India is rapidly growing and will soon reach $4 trillion GDP. Australia has world-class strength in agriculture, mining, and education, and a diverse economy. This is therefore a trade partnership with boundless untapped opportunity. The Australia-India Economic Co-operation and Trade Agreement (ECTA), signed in April 2022, has begun to unlock this potential but must be brought to life through deeper connection between Australian and Indian business.
